Sono Valentina Contino, un’architetta specializzata in Lighting Design.
Nata a Napoli nel 1993, subito dopo la mia laurea in architettura presso la Federico II nel 2019 mi trasferisco a Roma per approfondire la mia grande passione: la progettazione della luce, conseguendo un master in lighting design alla Sapienza.
“Complicare è facile, semplificare è difficile.” Questa frase di Bruno Munari accompagna da sempre il mio modo di pensare la luce e lo spazio: ogni progetto è un processo di sintesi, dove il vero obiettivo non è togliere, ma far emergere ciò che conta davvero”.
Credo per questo in una progettazione sartoriale, fatta su misura per gli spazi e le persone che li
vivono. Ogni progetto è un abito cucito con attenzione, in cui la luce diventa l’elemento distintivo che valorizza forme, materiali e atmosfere.
Il lighting design: il cuore del mio lavoro
La luce non è solo funzionalità. È racconto, identità, emozione. È ciò che dà profondità a un ambiente, che mette in risalto una linea architettonica, che accompagna l’esperienza delle persone all’interno di uno spazio. La mia competenza più rilevante è proprio questa: progettare la luce come strumento espressivo e funzionale, integrandola fin dall’inizio nel concept architettonico per creare armonia, comfort e bellezza.

My name is Valentina Contino, an architect specialized in Lighting Design.
Born in Naples in 1993, I moved to Rome in 2019 immediately after graduating in Architecture from
the University of Federico II, to deepen my greatest passion: lighting design. There, I completed a Master’s degree in Lighting Design at Sapienza University.

This quote by Bruno Munari has always guided the way I think about light and space: every project is a process of synthesis, where the true goal is not to remove, but to reveal what truly matters. For this reason, I believe in bespoke design, tailored to the spaces and the people who inhabit them. Each project is like a carefully crafted garment, where light becomes the distinctive element
that enhances forms, materials, and atmospheres.

Light is not just functionality. It is narrative, identity, emotion. It gives depth to a space, highlights
architectural lines, and shapes the way people experience an environment.
My core expertise lies precisely here: designing light as both an expressive and functional tool, integrating it from the earliest stages of the architectural concept to create harmony, comfort, and beauty.
